The temporary nature of stress relief exercises, while important for those who are chronically stressed do not fix the problem permanently. Instead the root causes of stress in a person is actually in how you deal with stress on a subconscious and conscious level. It is in the behaviors you have learned and ingrained in your lifestyle that make matters worse but it is impossible for you to really see them at work because they are simplay a part of your character now.
This does not mean you cannot change those things though.
