Selling the idea not only the text of screenplay
Every person writing a screenplay has the intention that this be read. Each has the dream that his/her screenplay is accepted and seen fit for a film or tv show. A individual sitting at a given time to write anything, do so with the intention that his/her words is enough exciting to get a producer motivated for to buy the screenplay and then turn it into a film work that is seen by many people and besides to make money. But between sitting down to write that screenplay and actually see it as a movie o tv program a lot can happen, some of them are the time required among the writing, review, contact with a potential client, wait for the response from that client, and if is favorable wait again during the time it takes that person to negotiate the financing of a film based on his/her screenplay and finally if all goes well, the launch of production and full payment of the work. This story even with ups and downs has a happy ending, but in other cases – perhaps the most-the result is not as satisfying because something happens in some part of the full process that does not allow the initial idea captured on a piece of paper become a reality on the screen, it may be that for some reason the process of writing becomes extremely long, perhaps for lack of clear ideas, perhaps by excessive perfectionism, perhaps lack of real purpose where to target that idea, and so on. Also possible that having completed the writing and review of the screenplay, responses of stakeholders are often negative, because of the idea of the screenplay does not meet market expectations, or because it is not raised sufficiently clear, strong, orderly, structured, emotional etc. In this second case is where most screenwriters fail to achieve their objective despite having under the arm a screenplay whose idea it could be a blockbuster but nevertheless as a consequence of a poor approach in history, in the structure, the definition of characters, etc., can not sufficiently motivate the movie studio executive to buy such idea.
