Planning a Discount Luxury Cruise

You can greatly enhance your cruise experience by planning the cruise ahead of time.

You will naturally plan which cruise to purchase and what time you are going to take the cruise. Part of that decision is the destinations and the length of the cruise. There is no question whether you will plan on how to get to the cruise. But, you can also plan your shore excursions, what you will pack in your luggage and so on.

Some cruises will require a passport because of the destinations of the cruise. So, you should plan ahead and order one. They are good for ten years, so you will have plenty of time to use it even if not on this next cruise you take.

If you write a list of items to pack, you can check them off as you place them in your luggage. When the list is checked completely off, you will know that you have packed all that you were planning on taking.

Some items on your list should be:

  1. Possibly – passport, or other means of identification
  2. Toiletries – Itemize these so that you don’t forget things like your toothbrush. These items are more expensive to purchase on the ship than in the grocery store.
  3. Swim wear.
  4. Evening clothes for the special dining experiences.
  5. Comfortable shoes for walking around on shore and on the deck.

Some things you don’t have to be concerned with:

  • Towels.
  • Hair dryers
  • Irons
  • Extra clothes. You can have your clothes laundered on the ship for very reasonable prices.
