Master Bedroom Remodeling Tips and Ideas
It is often true to say that remodeling the master bedroom is one of the last places in the home that receives a makeover but it has become one of the most desirable on homeowner’s lists. However, it is only in recent years that people have started to place more effort in the decoration of this room which for some is also a reading room, a sanctuary or even treated like a relaxed study. In this part of the world we are a little behind Europe, they have been using the bedroom for much more for a long time; the French and Italians have always seen it as sensual place for example.
The main aspect of change if you remodel your master bedroom in to a more sensual place is the color scheme and you can achieve this by using shades of red, cream and peach. Try using a number of mirrors in areas that will reflect the light supplied by candles and maybe add a few plants; you will achieve shadows that will create an air of mystery. Of course to improve upon this and enhance the atmosphere further you will need the subtle use of mirrors and candles along with some beautiful tropical plants; I am sure you can see the appeal to this already.
However, good lights for reading are required that are not too harsh on the eyes and a shaded table lamp on a small circular table next to the armchair will really set the scene. Certain colors go well with a bedroom that is also being used as a reading room; shades of ivory for instance or the warmth of antique amber and relaxing slate blue. For people remodeling the master bedroom into a type of retreat then the addition of large pillows, cushions and colorful throws can help create this effect plus the odd mirror and perhaps a picture or two, preferably a landscape.
It is also possible to use this as a reading room if you add a chair and small table with a lamp. If, when you remodel your master bedroom, you want to make this an even more relaxing room then all you require is some family photographs on display in possibly antique style frames. To create a room where you will feel relaxed and have a good nights sleep then you will need to use darker shades of brown and blue, natural woodland and forest colors also work well.
For those people where space is not an issue when they remodel their master bedroom, why not add a few extra touches like a small desk to write on and perhaps some music to listen to. Even fridges are becoming more popular now for storing drinks but this really needs to be placed in a position where it will not disturb the effect you are trying to achieve. As you spend time remodeling your master bedroom in a way that reflects your lifestyle, it can be a worthwhile project and who knows, you may find yourself spending even more time in this often undervalued room.
