How To Make Your Own Compost
The best compost is colloid compost. It doesn’t look very pretty, but it works really well.
A colloid, in laymen’s terms, is a solid suspended in a liquid. Examples of colloids that are more common are Jello gelatin or grape jelly. A colloid is mostly water, but it is not wet to the touch.
There are several advantages to making compost in a colloid form. For one, it can be made quickly. It’s possible to make enough to last an entire year in just a day. You don’t have to spend weeks collecting kitchen scraps and then turning them over and over.
Another great advantage of this type of compost is that it doesn’t stink. There’ll be no more complaints from neighbors. You won’t have every dog in the neighborhood checking out your back yard to see what smells “so good”. This kind of compost is nearly odorless.
This compost is much better for your plants than regular compost. It releases nutrients to the plant roots only as those nutrients are needed. You don’t wind up over fertilizing your plants like can happen when you use chemical fertilizers. You also don’t end up with a situation where the plants don’t get enough nutrients. Because of the unique way that plants take what they need (and only what they need) from the compost, they grow faster and healthier than they otherwise would. Also, if you’re growing vegetables, they’ll be larger, have better color and be better for you. Using this type of compost will not only make your plants better, but it’ll make you better too.
