Does It Matter If You Train Your New Puppy?
You have just gotten you new puppy home. Dog obedience training is the last thing on your mind. For sure you know that you will need to know how to train your dog to go to the bathroom outside but that should be simple enough, after all, he is a very smart dog.
You envision what your life is going to be like now that you have a new best friend. In your mind you see you and your pet running free at the park and playing. He will go ever where that you do and he will always stay by your side so you don’t even need him on a leash.
Maybe he will be your son or daughter’s best friend. They will spend long summer days playing and getting into mischief just the way a kid and their dog are supposed to. Life is going to be so wonderful!
Then reality sets in.
Your perfectly behaved dog will absolutely not relieve himself outside and loves lounging on your couch. You find yourself wondering “How do you keep dogs off furniture“?!He is suddenly to good for dog food and scours the counters for his feast. Your new carpet has become a digging haven.
You had no clue what it really meant to be dealing with a teething puppy.Forget that you bought him chew toys and plenty of bones, the arms on your favorite recliner have become the best chew toy in the world. He barks all day and night and slowly but surely your hopes and dreams of owning the perfect dog has vanished.
So what do you do now?
Well even if you wanted to you can not just get rid of your monstrous dog because when he get in trouble he gets the biggest saddest eyes that he stares up at you with. He really loves you and you are quite fond of him.
If only he would be better behaved it would all be wonderful.
Well the answer to your problem my friend is dog obedience training and I’m not just talking about taking him to a dog training class a handful of times and hoping for the best. Dogs need constant training to get well behaved but it is not as hard to do as you might think.
Dogs really love to please so when you two finally figure out how to properly communicate and he knows what to expect, he will go out of his way to make you happy.
