Coping with the Death of a Pet – What can you do?
Losing a pet is a hard thing to overcome, I personal know because I just lost my 12 year old chocolate lab. These special creatures that offer us unconditional love do have our hearts. No matter how old or young our pet was, the death of a pet can be devastating on all members of the family.
So what can you do to work through the grief of coping with the death of a pet?
One of the things that I believe is not yet utilized for dealing with grief over the loss of a pet is using the power of our mind.
What I mean by that is that their are ways of transforming our grief into joy in a relatively quick period. Their are specific areas that need to be address in order to process our grief in a healthy way:
Being at peace with the past, some of us inflict ourselves with negative thoughts on how we could of done more, been a better pet owner, cared more for them and etc. These are only thoughts that we are repeating to ourselves that become a belief, you can over turn that.
Another thing you can do is use guided meditations to connect with your beloved pet, often times we take longer to heal through this grief because we focus on our loss. Guided meditation can bring you to a place of experiencing some joy instantaneously which propels us to a quick recovery.
