Compost worms

When you begin worm composting you are going to have a lot of questions. It’s ok to have lots of questions. One of those questions is going to be what kind of worms are good for worm composting? It can be quite frustrating trying to find the answers. Some people will say just regular earthworms some people will say red wiggler, red wriggler or just plain red worms. So, which kind is it? Well, it took me awhile to find reliable people to give me the correct answer. The answer is Red Worms, Red Wriggler or Red Wiggler. Why? Because they are exactly the same worm just different names. I love information like that. It can be so confusing trying to do research when an item has three or four different names. The next question you might have is, Is there really any difference between regular earthworms and red worms? The answer is Yes. There is a difference. A red worm or red wriggler/red wiggler can eat more than double their weight in food a day. Which is great if you want them to eat your scraps in a timely manner. The faster they eat the quicker you’ll get a nice rich worm compost which is fantastic for all kinds of indoor and outdoor plants.
