The look of excitment on Marie’s face when she saw the black diamond studs that BJ had given her was pricesless. “What kind of stones are they?” Marie Asked. “Black diamonds” replied BJ. “I’ve never seen black diamonds before. They are beautiful”. Marie was curios about what black diamonds really were.
Later that day, Marie searched the internet on her computer about what black diamonds were. She also wanted to know where they came from. Here is what she found out about black diamonds.
The proper name for black diamonds is carbonado. It is a natural diamond found in the Central African Republic and Brazil. It is naturally dark grey or black in color. Black diamonds are more porous than white or yellow diamonds. They are formed of many small particles bound and stuck together. This makes them more porous than white diamonds.
Though found in the same countries as white diamonds, it is not found in the same places are white diamonds (kimberlite pipes). This makes it a rather curious diamond in that it is not found in those same places.
There are many theories about what causes the formation of black diamonds. Some of them are pressure on carbon in the earth’s interior, meteors from space, radiation, and shock from the impact of meteorites from space.
Marie decided that black diamond studs were the perfect gift. She was so glad that BJ was so thoughtful to get here such a beautiful perfect gift. She was so happy to have gotten the black diamond studs.
